  Probably Edinburgh's best storytelling 26 Aug 2006
reviewer: Nick Hunn, UK

It's not fair for us grown-ups that this is hidden away under the Children's listings, as it's one of the funniest shows on the Fringe this year. This is storytelling as it should be, captivating an audience of all ages. The puppetry is to die for - the dog has some of the best comic timing that you'll see. If ever there was an argument to include Children's Shows in the Fringe Firsts or Comedy awards, this is it.

...and his dog 24 Aug 2006
reviewer: MH, Scotland

Puppetstate produce an outstanding adaptation of this classic tale that will delight and entrance all ages. With minimal props and staging, simple easy-going dialogue and wonderful characterisation they weave a magical spell that leaves you feeling hopeful, happy but with maybe a tear in your eye for good measure.

Go and see this. It's just plain wonderful, and a fine (and witty) telling of a story I've always loved.

See the trees for the wood :-) 20 Aug 2006

Wonderful, funny and meaningful! One set, 2 guys, 3 puppets and forty years of a man planting trees. You don't have to take a child but be prepared to delight the child within. If there is an environmental bone in your body you'll love it!

It's what we come to the fringe for 20 Aug 2006
reviewer: Paul , Cheshire

I'm writing this on behalf of my 9 yr old daughter, who is now on her fourth visit to the fringe. She thinks that it's up there with the best shows she's seen. Engaging, funny, well crafted and with an important moral message. Go and see it, and take your parents.
